Mahale National Park (National Park Mahale) is located 120 km from Kigoma. The area occupied by it is equal to 1 613 km2. The western boundary of the park reaches 62 km. This boundary is laid through the mountain ridge Mahale, the peak of which reaches 2,461 m above sea level. In 1980 the park got its official name. The terrain is characterized by the combination of western and eastern vegetation. Driving on cars is prohibited here, so you can visit this park on foot. Majestic mountains frame the lake, reminiscent of its expanses of the sea. Among the forests of the park are more than 1000 primates, among which one can distinguish one of the oldest clans Mimikere. This group has about 60 monkeys, and is headed by its local alpha - Fanana. In addition to primates, there are 82 species of animals and 355 species of birds. The park's world is divided into three ecological zones: the rain forests sheltered the colobus and porcupine, the savanna became the home of lions and giraffes, and in the thickets of the miombo they found the sanctuary of the antelope. From the world of birds, many representatives are endemic, so scientists try to monitor their population. The study of the world of reptiles began in 2006, but so far only 26 species have been open, two of which have been declared by scientists as completely unique species previously unknown to science. Fine forest rocks miobo cover the mountain slopes, this vegetation is compared by the abundance of inhabitants, with the forests of Mount Kilimanjaro. At an altitude of about 2300 meters, a view of the green meadows opens above which white, cumulus clouds spread over their curls. In this area, African winds soar over more than 5,000 varieties of grass, among which 500 species are considered rare. If you have the opportunity to visit the wonderful world of Tanzania, be sure to visit all its parks, among which are: Katavi National Park, Gombe Stream National Park and Udzungwa Mount National Park. For a person who loves the animal world, there is nothing better than watching animals in the wild, studying their habits and admiring the landscapes of parks. In big cities, life tirelessly rushes along asphalt roads, destroying green plantations, so it's not surprising that in the National Park "Mahal" a person rests not only physically - here the soul opens!
